In Irish culture, when the work is too important to do alone, a meitheal forms. Neighbors gathering to do meaningful work together. When the harvest needed bringing in, a roof needed raising, or a new mother needed holding, the community came together to support one another. The work is shared because it matters.

Rooted Beginnings Meitheal is your meitheal for motherhood — lactation care at the center, held with postpartum and newborn care woven around it.

I believe the earliest days of parenthood were never meant to be navigated alone. Rooted Beginnings Meitheal was created from my passion for caring for mothers, babies, and families during one of life's most beautiful—and most vulnerable—transitions.

My approach brings together years of hands-on newborn and childcare experience with specialized education in lactation, postpartum support, and newborn care. My goal is to provide families with more than an extra set of hands. I want to be a knowledgeable, reassuring presence in your home—someone you can trust to care for your baby, support your recovery, help you navigate feeding, answer the questions that inevitably arise, and bring a little more calm and confidence to those early days.

My professional background includes a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of South Carolina, Newborn Care Specialist training through the Newborn Care Training Academy (NCTA), and Postpartum Doula training through DONA International. My lactation education includes training through both the UC San Diego Lactation Consultant Program and the Healthy Children Project, combining comprehensive lactation education with hands-on clinical experience supporting mothers and babies. I am continuing my professional journey toward becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
